The last time i cried like this was then Crowfeather got his warriorname, damn that tom for doing it to me a second time!
Personally, this was the most awaited secret to be revealed, and the most painful. I've begged and begged for a cat where we can follow pregnancy and raising kits up close, but getting it like this was unfair and just as painful as it was meant to be. We know what it was from the beginning, but every word still managed to hurt more and more. It skipped in the pacing a building a bit too much, and Leafpool gave birth much quicker than expected, after having just said she had a quarter-moon left. Yes yes, it can happen lik that, but i wish it hadn't, and that Hunter hadn't restricted themselves with a story like this. Otherwise, a wonderful read, one to revisit many times in the future.

Really good ! I love Leafpool and Squirrelflight relationship and it was very cute to see Jaykit, Hollykit and Lionkit. It was very emotional to read about Leafpool emotions.

After reading Squirrelflight's Hope, I thought it would be a good idea to go back and read Leafpool's novella as well (I already miss her so much!). I hadn't read it before mainly because I wasn't sure what it could add to the plotline and/or characterization. I was worried it was going to be just pure filler, but I still read it for the sake of curiosity.
I must admit that, sadly, I was right. This book was made almost completely from actions and scenes the reader already knows, and while it does explain some of the things that lead Leafpool to her decision, a fair amount of plot holes remained unsolved.
However, it wasn't terrible. I loved seeing Jaykit, Hollykit and Lionkit so young and careless, as well as I enjoyed the sibling relationship they shared from the very beginning. Though they only were present in a couple chapters of this book, they lightened it up and made the entire read worth the time.
Another thing I liked was how Leafpool's emotions were portrayed. I'm aware this is very subjective, but personally, I could sense everything that she was feeling when reading, which made the experience a lot of times better than it would be if it had plain, emotionless writing.
I don't have many things to say about this book, to be honest. It wasn't remarkably good, but it wasn't that bad either. If you are in doubt about reading it, I would suggest skipping it and saving yourself a short time (and some money, maybe). It's a fun read for when you are bored, though, and I had a nice time with it!
Note: I'm probably seeing too much into this, but I found the scene in Leafpool's mind in which she and Crowfeather were in a "date" and climbed a tree way too similar to Bluestar and Oakheart's meeting at Fourtrees. It's probably just a coincidence, but if it was an actual parallel than I gotta say it was pretty clever!

I somehow missed this in my chronological reading, whoops! The story is fine, but again these novellas are pretty much filler, and they tend to be filled with more mistakes and inconsistencies compared to the main series. The story itself was nice to know, but I don't think it was all that well executed.

Leafpool's Wish only lasts until 76%, than there's a preview of The Sun Trail (which they keep pushing in every Erin Hunter book since its publication, though there are 3 books out in the Dawn of the Clans series). It's sad to know Leafpool's loss firsthand, but she did it for the kits and her Clan, a noble act.
