this was an amazing read!!! i love her literary voice and sense of humor so much. while i didnt always agree with all her points (especially on female anger ruining the quality of their works; i think it often improves it!!!), she brings up so many interesting ideas. this more than deserves its status as an iconic feminist book

Although incredibly critical and often cannot hold up to the test of time, Woolf's ideas are still completely perceptible to our current society. Her wit is undeniable in her inferences, analogies, and commentary! Like actually, holy shit... I believe every woman should read this at least once in her life, and this should obviously be mandated to every woman involving herself in the world of literature ┐( ˘_˘)┌

I can understand why this is regarded as a feminist text/lecture. There are some very quotable lines. It seems to run on a bit for me but as it was originally a lecture, I imagine it has a different feel in text form.

A classic. An amazing travel to the past. And as many people say "we study the past so we don't make the same mistakes in the future" and let me tell you. This book is that quote. It made me think a lot about how a woman was the protected one to have rights and liberties. This book is a wake up call to not give up. To never give our liberties to someone, to write to study who we are. To be friends, to be someone in a world where man can't even take our opinion. This book is amazing and I just wish it was bigger and bigger because Virginia has an amazing writting (or maybe this was an amazing translation?). The way she constructed this speech (because this book is her speech and not a book she wrote) it's amazing and every woman should read this at least once.

Once again, i fall in love with Virginia Woolf. A piece of art that should be read and shared with everyone, everywhere on earth.

Edit: i MEAN everyone, because i usually see this recommended only for women, but no. Every man and woman capable of reading 'genderlessly' ought to read this.
