This starts out slow and a little boring. I liked the competition. I found the love triage boring by comparison. There is good worldbuilding and I do find the characters interesting.

World building it delivered slowly throughout the course of the book, you find out more as the main character reintegrates with society. There’s a lot left to unpack in the future books, so some things aren’t wrapped up/ fleshed out completely.
