My original review was a 4 ⭐ so this is it as a reread so maybe that's a bit unfair of me because I did enjoy it a lot more the first time

A book that left me feeling bereft when I finished it. A masterpiece of writing and characterisation. It really drums home the trials and struggles of the LGBTQ+ community in a time that doesn't feel that long ago. The dual Timeline works brilliantly, even though I was questioning it at the beginning, it all came together seamlessly. The characters were so real and you couldn't help feel attached to them throughout. A really fantastic piece of writing!
