I got this free, so went smack in the middle of a series. It wasn't hard to understand the previous relationships, and the story wasn't a continuation from the previous ones, so it was ok.
This story has the vibe of Charmed. There are 3 witches who are friends (compared to the 3 witch sisters); 2 very powerful kids - a brother and sister twins (compared to the 2 brothers); supernatural husbands - shifters compared to angel/Cupid.
While there are comparisons to Charmed, the book feels more superficial, and is very light hearted. It would have been nice to have more to the story, but it was a nice quick read. There is a lot of vulgarity, especially the language by the familiars - it was plain annoying.
I love Sassy. Think of the stereotypical dumb blonde. She was hilarious. I just loved her. However some jokes were taken way too far, like the Houston one or the languages bits.
I will definitely be getting the rest of the series. I want to read them from the start.
Audiobook - I didn't love the narration, but it wasn't horrible either. I thought that she wasn't able to separate the character tones. For example, a lot of times Zelda sounded like Sassy. It would have gotten quite confusing if there weren't the 'he said', 'she said' tags.
