This is the first time I have read a complete collection of short stories. This collection was amazing with blood-curdling, stomach-churning, anxiety ridden stories that really showed the best and worst of humanity and beyond. I think there were only 3 or 4 stories in the collection that I actively didn't like (unfortunately, that included the title story). But it was a really good read, something different and exciting. I will definitely be reading more of Alison Moore's work and other short story collections.

A mixed bag of short stories, united in their sense of secrets and creeping dread. Some reveal their plot twists with a burst of cold clarity; many leave me feeling like I missed something.

A great collection of stories! Each one was unsettling and some were slightly sinister. They left you feeling unsettled and disturbed. I loved it.
