I have a feeling that contemporary, aimed at teens, fiction isn’t for me. The second they introduce the ‘love interest’ I was just like for god sake. I know they needed a reason for her to ‘escape her reality’ but it was the least interesting and most cringey part of the book. Tbh the most interesting thing about the boy next door who does parkour, is the Bundt cake his mum is so terrible at making and the scenarios it ‘lives through’ in the first parts of the book.

I so wanted to enjoy this book because the concept was of this poorly girl living such an existence sounded so interesting.

This book really took a hard left!

I enjoyed this book, but I always hate the insta-love so common in YA books. I kind of guessed where the end was going, but I enjoyed the story nonetheless. The illustrations were nice.

Years ago I've watched the movie "Everything, everything", and it was the funniest and the most absurd thing I've ever seen.
Months ago I've read another Nicola Yoon's book, and surprisingly enjoyed it very much.
Here comes the conclusion, where those two feelings collide.

"Everything, everything" isn't the worst book I've read. Yes, the most absurd and really, really far-fetched, but not bad. The writing is absolutely amazing. The idea behind building this story - by screenshots, drawings, tickets and mails, chapters shorter or longer - it all becomes something really individual. Thanks to that, Maddie's story has an extremely easy and pleasant way of exploring.

But in no means it's possible story. There are so many elements that just cry for laugh. How many money characters got, how naïve are they, how fast everything happens. Their moods are like young rabbits, jumping there and back, and honestly I don't like romances. Even though Yoon's romances aren't that cringe-y and foolish as the crowned kings in this category, it doesn't equal they're the best.

I would lie saying I hadn't enjoyed reading, because even if the core of Maddie and Olly's story is so... let's not talk about that again, the writing made everything. Very unrealistic, but enjoyable read.

I read this as an audiobook and the childlike sound of the narrator kind of worked when I considered this girl's plight as an oversheltered 'girl in a bubble'. but when she breaks out and has sex, the 10 year old's voice turned creepy.

This book was similar to The Sun Is also a Star in its unique writing style and metaphors, but I actually enjoyed reading it more. It was lighter and funnier and cuter, even though Nicola Yoon's other book had a more powerful story. I feel like the ending of this one made it a little less realistic, though. I think it would have made a more interesting story if things had turned out differently.
