I wanted to like this but it was't well-written enough to make up for the fact that it was pretty predictable. Plot aside, most of the characters felt underdeveloped and generic and all but a couple were pretty unlikable in a way that wasn't even interesting. I finished it because I kept thinking it would go somewhere and by the time I accepted it wasn't going to I was pretty far in. Maybe would be more enjoyable for someone who rarely reads mysteries and isn't in the mood for much of a thinker?

Twisty thriller with a modern premise, plenty of red herrings abound.

Spoilers throughout: Honestly I really rather would have listened to a story from the perspective of the killer. I thought she had a way more compelling story than a bunch of rich people making excuses cause "family" I'm also clearly not the target audience cause I will and have cut off family members for far less horrible stuff then rape and pedophilia.

When a group of people go to a vacation house for the weekend, they never dream that it could unravel their lives.

This book kept me interested in the plot, but wasn’t anything special. I found it semi-predictable and a little heavy on the concept of “family”. The ending also dragged on a little long.

I liked Henry’s story arc the best, which was only a small portion of the whole thing.

This was pretty solid. It moved quickly, but I didn't get super connected to it. Maybe too many POVs?

This was my first attempt at a thriller, I only picked it for the cover tbh. I’d suggest skipping it.

The first third was somewhat interesting, but then it derailed for me. There are too many characters and povs, some of which seemed to have been thrown in unnecessarily. I also really don’t like to read about stalkers so it got a bit triggering for me. I looked up how it ends and it wouldn’t have been worth it to keep reading.

It also really felt like it was going to have a ‘childhood trauma and mental illness makes you homicidal or a stalker’ Kind of take, as the two antagonists seemed to be the only characters in the entire book with mental illness issues (besides Hannah’s mom, who was also just a shitty person). This came out last year. We’re done with that trope. That should never have been a trope to begin with.

Thankfully I got this for free at a little free library so I didn’t waste my money.
