This sort of book is usually right up my street but I just felt like nothing really happened in this story; it was all awfully predictable and mundane. I felt like this entire story could have been true and not dramatised at all - like someone could have told me this happened to them and I would have believed every word. I wasn’t expecting anything ludicrous but it just wasn’t dramatic enough to take me somewhere else, which is what I want when I’m reading.
