I had such high hopes for this, but it felt like the MCs were written for the male gaze, just to be sexy and smart but can't talk about being smart or can't be too successful. Also the writing style was too much, and don't even get me started on the unnecessary thesaurus words (the flow around some of these eight point words made me so mad)

this was a very fun read!! i rarely read adult romances, mainly because i don’t usually gravitate towards spicy faster-burn romance plots, so this maybe wasn’t really for me in that respect.  these characters were messy and complicated but also kind and smart, making them loveable and making it hard not to root for them as the story continued!

the two main characters are both lesbian bipoc academics, and nearly all of the key supporting characters are queer! (we love some good bi rep)

lovedddd all the art history and travel references and had fun noting them all to make a pinterest board of them!! overall, a good time🫶🏻
