Listen, maybe I'm just going through my wholesome-books period, or maybe not every book that makes you cry is good.
This book made me sobbbbbbbbbbbbb, but I can't see myself wanting to recommend it to anyone else. The plot relies so heavily on the shock factor of the multiple traumatic things that happen to the MC; the teacher who was supposed to be the good guy was so bad to the children
(he mentally scarred one child and then left his adopted child when his girlfriend said that he was the reason he didn't give her enough attention)
; there were a lot of ambiguous endings, which I didn't mind personally but that's because I knew this book only had 34 chapters, the readers that read it as it was uploading weren't expecting that ending.

All in all it was a good manga. The art style was pleasing and calming but the ending is what threw me off. Yes we can tell by the end that Shi Yi is okay and that’s nice but we never really get any true resolution. Like we see bai ming doing well overseas but we don’t get any updates about his illness and we also don’t get the satisfaction of seeing him earn his keep, become successful and rub it into that assholes face. Didn’t get to see any real romance develop between shi yi and ming qi and ofc its not exactly necessary to hv a romance but it was clearly what we were led on to believe by the tags as well as when ming qi looked disappointed when he found out shi yi was being confessed to. Also as a side bot she’s not exactly important but teacher tang yuans gf really pissed me off like i get that ur relationship isn’t working out but is it really necessary to tell an orphan who had such a horrible childhood in which he was abandoned, bullied, looked down upon to the point he felt as tho he was a burden and rub it into his face even more. The fact that we see her having fun and talking to ming qi’s mum happily with no guilt really pissed me off. LIKE EXTREMELY PISSED. Yes, I feel that if we had an epilogue showing the end of all the arcs the author set in motion would’ve really helped wrap up the manga nicely.
