I hate the troupe of nobody believing a character when they are telling the truth (it’s effective, but familiar). Otherwise, this volume is intense, creative, and leads to some painful emotional beats for certain characters.
Graphic: Violence, Blood, and Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Emotional abuse and Murder
Minor: Death, Excrement, Death of parent, and Gaslighting
Be aware that this volume features prolonged illness, threats of violence, attempted murder, verbal abuse, and “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” troupe.bookcheshirecat's review against another edition

- Continues the tale of Syrup village and Captain Kuro's evil plan to take over Kaya's fortune! Usopp is trying to save his dear friend ... but being known as a chronic liar means that no one believes him that this time pirates really will attack the village. Luckily, Luffy is there to help and face Kuro alongside Nami and Zoro!
- Once again I loved the hilarious humor of the scenes, as even with such a serious threat, Luffy never fails to make me laugh 😂 This crew is just so chaotic and I'm living for it! Usopp is a great addition, as his act as the town liar means he's not as brave as he's pretending to be. It was sweet that he loved his village and his friend Kaya so much, that he'd still attempt to fight!
- I also LOVE that Captain Kuro's crew is themed around Black Cats!! I love cats and black cats in particular so I love their crew branding 🐈⬛
