The illustrations are astoundingly beautiful but the story is really lacking. A shame because I felt like got off to a pretty good start with the first volume, but the ending was so anticlimactic.

This is the most exquisitely drawn book, but the plot line was nonexistent. It had a nice thought about how monarchs who are dead set on ruling are not meant to take the throne and are blinded by power. However, the main character, Tilda, was worlds away from the reader and we didn’t get a chance to fully understand this through her.

This ending felt a bit basic and cliché, but the artwork is still the highlight of the book.
