This book was the first book I finished in 24 hours in years. I am not sure if it was the writing style, or just the story. This is a book that needs to start being shared in schools, in communities. it captures it perfectly.

This book is definitely not for the faint of heart, especially if you are a victim of S.A., but I found it very moving. It felt so realistic to how young girls evolve (or honestly devolve) after trauma and not getting proper help or support. I found myself getting very frustrated with Eden’s actions throughout the book, but then recalled that this is her reacting to her abuse and not properly dealing with it and that her actions are a very real thing that people do after trauma. I look forward to the sequel coming out in the future, I hope Eden is able to get closure and heal.

I truly fear that I have too much to say about this novel, so I will try to be brief. I read the entire thing in a handful of hours and I can honestly say that I have never read a book before that has effected me in this way; It was a highly emotional downward spiral for me that proved to be… cathartic. Eden is relatable in the worst ways. If you’re looking for light reading or something that has any happy moments whatsoever, this is not the novel for you and it is apparent by page 1. But it is still a good book- just maybe read it when you’re emotionally prepared.
