Hockey goalie Jason Dexter plays for the Voltage, but gets called up to the NHL when Denver Edge's starting goalie gets hurt. Instead of the planned proposal to his girlfriend Lauren, he demands that she quits her teaching job to follow him to Denver. But she's not ready to give up everything she's worked for, especially when Jason can be sent back anytime, so instead she breaks up with him. Jason truly regrets his ultimatum. Now he has to do everything he can to win back the love of his life.

For a sports geek like me it's great that the story revolves around hockey! It's evident that the author herself has a huge interest in the sport. I also like the characters, and it's obvious that they're suited for each other. Since we get both POV's we know exactly what they think about everything, and I really like that. But I think there's a bit too much drama, and to me it seems like it's mostly Lauren who tries to adapt to their new prerequisites, while Jason soon is back to his old habits. Of course they resolve everything in the end - romance books need a happy ending!

This is the third book in the series, but I haven't read the previous ones, and it works fine as a stand alone.
