This was cute. I picked it up because it kept getting checked out at school and I was curious. Fun, and it’s setting up for a good adventure even if not a ton happened here. Can confirm it is popular with the 3-5th grade crowd though

I had a lot of high hopes for this one but I ended up pretty bored through most of it. I will say I’m surprised that this is definitely a sci-fi rather than a fantasy and the way they explained some of those details was really interesting. I was really thinking 3/4 of the way through that I wasn’t going to continue with this but the ending hooked me and has me wanting to see what else this story has to share. The concept of the gods is very interesting and provides an unpredictable side plot of the story. Not sure if I’ll wait for the next book or just look up the webcomic.

Gotta be honest, but I felt that the story rushed a little but I mean, what should I have expected? This is a graphic novel. Haha, anyway— the story telling, design and the characters are all really something. I was well engaged to the book and very excited to see how this series turns out.
