I liked the writing enough, it was easy to get through and the pacing was pretty decent. I loved the Vegas setting and the characters were interesting.

The smut is.on.point. Like, really freaking good. I needed a cigarette after reading this.
Max is a filthy, filthy bastard with a filthy mouth and I absolutely love him! From the moment he's introduced I was just as intrigued by him as Ethan was. He had a very interesting thing going on with him but he's a Dom through and through. I think he's probably one of the hottest and filthiest talking Doms I've come across thus far.
Ethan is the cutest thing ever! I like that he was a badass and could take down people and he wanted to work for the FBI. He was a great and witty character with a good head on his shoulders. I loved his determination and his humor. He and Max are just so perfect together. Ugh, I need the next book and I'm kinda salty that this was not even 200pgs. I wish the first and second books had been combined into one but that's just me being greedy.
Overall, I'd re-read this in a heartbeat. It was quick and fun and dirty. No complaints from me.

This book wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but I think I won't continue with the series because I feel like I need to setmy standard a little bit higher. I don't have as much time for reading as I used to that is why I want to chose my books wisely

So I went back and forth for the score on this. One the one hand, it was a solid 3. I liked it but not sure I really liked it enough to give it a 4 so leaving it at 3.5. It started off as PWP for me. Struggled to find the plot. But surprisingly, I began to really like Ethan. Upright young man going to community college with dreams of being an FBI agent but ol' boy has some interesting fantasies. Really gets off on being held down. . Ethan and his co-workers, all of whom work for a low-rent PI firm, go to Vegas for a conference. Ethan meets Maximilian and the fantasies take off. Though he doesn't know what to call his desires, necessarily, but Max, a dominant, sure does. Though he's submissive, he's not a doormat. Really liked this guy. Now Max, hmmmm sort of a caricature, but together with Ethan, it worked. Wondered though about . Didn't see that discussion as things become intense between Ethan and Max. Lots of hot sexy times, though. Liked it so much I think I will read book 2.
