This book took me so long to read and I think that was because the whole time I wanted it to be something that it wasn’t (which is totally on me). I loved The Charm Offensive so much that I was going to read this book regardless even though I am not a fan of messy relationships and the love trapezoid in this one was super hard for me. So I didn’t love it but that’s more my fault because I didn’t like some of the troupes rather than a problem with the book.

As a queer person who loves to bake and wear flannel and boots and nearly exclusively listens to pop music, mostly Taylor Swift, I love this book and all the adorable idiots contained therein

I loved this, it was a loving rom com that gave me some hallmark Christmas movie feels and I loved the plot and the way the story played out in the end. I was worried when the conflict and everything happened because I was so close to the end but I feel like if tied up nicely and it ended in a sweet holiday rom com style that just made me happy.

ALL THE STARS!! I need an option for more than 5 stars to only be used very occasionally - and Kiss Her Once For Me is that occasion. Do you love the movie While You Were Sleeping? Do you love the book The Charm Offensive? If the answer to either question is yes - immediately stop reading this review and go get your hands on this book to start reading it!!! I started reading without knowing anything other than the same author as The Charm Offensive - and I think that’s the perfect way to go in. Don’t read the synopsis!

If you need a little more - I’ll tell you the author’s note shared that it was inspired by While You Were Sleeping and I could see that through this book in all the best ways - particularly the overwhelming in the best ways introduction to the family. The grandmothers are absolute stars!

Alison Cochrun has become an absolute must buy author for me and I can’t wait to read anything else she writes! Thank you to Atria and Netgalley for the free advance reading copy. I also immediately bought a copy for my shelves before I even finished because I knew this was a new favorite!
