I can confidently say that if the next few books are as good as this one, this series will be a new favorite of mine alongside the Rangers Apprentice, Keeper of the Lost Cities, and many more. It is truly a phenomenal book and I was in love with the characters from the beginning. I wish the romance would have been slightly more developed but it didn’t progress far enough as a subplot anyways this book for that to be an issue and I can’t wait to see where it goes. This book is also perfect for those looking for a “clean” for lack of better word book with no real world swearing or spicy stuff. And is appropriate for those who have apprehensions about fantasy for religious reasons. It’s a not magical fantasy so there is nothing that religious or otherwise will take any issue with. This series aligns with Judaeo-Christian values without coming across as preachy,
over the top, or cringe as many do nowadays.
