Anna and Drustan totally made this book for me! I am a fan of a well done love triangle and Juliet Marillier did an amazing (and at times heartbreaking job) in this book. I also loved the “Beauty and the Beast” vibes attached to Drustan’s story. This story also keeps up with characters from the previous book and I am enjoying the sort of “Arthurian” feel that the series has, even though it is coming across as one of Marillier’s darker/heavier series’; which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Faolon’s story was definitely tugging at my heart at the end of the book and I’m super intrigued to move on to his story in Book 3.
