I felt just fine about this book up until the ending. Really interesting premise! Thought I’d love this but alas…

magical realism in Korea but then it became a  thriller?!?! where the narrator is tortured for info and has his fingers and toes cut off!!

This book was let down by the narrator (unlikeable and a man), the writing style and ultimately the ending which left so much feeling incomplete (I assume on purpose)!!

some interesting themes but there was a lot of fatphobia, and with the plot completely shifting in part 3, there really just didn’t seem to be a point by the end

A book about finding both hope in suffering, and misery in mundaety. I adored each of the files, each person with a creatively unique story that truly made me see the world a little bit differently. 

The A storyline was a lot less interesting to me than the files themselves. It started strong, but lost some solidity toward the end.
