This book had its good and bad moments, definitely entertaining. It wasn't amazing but it also wasn't horrible. I probably will read the rest of the series to see if it picks up.

3.75 stars. I have been avoiding this series for so long but I finally got into it! I liked this for the most part. It was good but this felt like an introduction book. It felt like an introduction to the world, some of the characters and the overall plot that will be in the series. I like all of the characters and how distinct their personalities are. You can tell how different they all are. Tristian and Morana have a lot of chemistry. I like them but, I don't really have a lot to say about them. I know that their relationship is going to develop more in the second book but they're good together. Tristan's backstory was so sad and it shows why he is the way he is throughout the book.

I loved Dante and Amara. I think they're going to be my favorites but it's too soon to say. My only complaint was that the book felt a bit slow at times because of how little spoken interaction we get between Tristan and Morana. There was a bunch of looking at each other and other things yet they barely spoke but in a way it worked. Also, despite what the authors note said, I did get a little annoyed after a while when Morana kept mentioning "his blue eyes" and using descriptions of "whiskey and sin" when it came to Tristan lol. Overall though, it was enjoyable, can't wait to get into the next one!

I can't describe enough how funny this is LMAO

I swear if I have a dime for every time Morana's breasts and nipples pebbled I would be rich lolol. The too-detailed writing that led to dramatization and ended up describing the character's feeling in half a chapter made me skimmed almost all of the chapters. I can almost hear Tristan Caine saying "I'M BATMAN" whenever he appeared. The sex scenes were like hormonal teenager's dirtiest wet dream. I was dead laughing every time it popped up. Morana's breasts and nipples being pebbled mentioned in such out of the box situations that made me like wtf LMAO. She also had this tendency to be horny in such an unexpected situation that made my mind boggled. Even while I'm writing this I'm still laughing lolol

I picked up this book while reading the horrible Haunting Adeline and saw many people said The Dark Verse is so much better dark romance series. Turns out my expectation was disappointing lmao. "Probably" will not pick up the rest of the series.
