Well, not as good as the earlier ones. For most of the book, the plot is split up again, and I enjoyed most of Vaelin’s part of the story but the others, not so much. And with so much going on, I had a hard time keeping track of some of the characters.
This book was a war on an epic scale and it’s a rare book that has war I enjoy reading about. This was not one of those books, although at least there was some interesting strategizing. A bit heavy on the death for me though. I appreciate that this book finally got to the ultimate villain of the story, but I still feel kind of meh about that I think.
Mostly I just plodded through in order to see how things wrapped up.

While this one did drag a tad, I loved this series overall. So excited to have discovered a new epic fantasy author with nuanced characters and intricate world-building who's not a misogynist?!?
