This book was the first book I’ve ever read. I read this in 6th grade in an entire school day throughout my classes. I stood outside my locker and finished it in the hall and one of my classmates walked up to me and said “you’re still reading that book”?! Obviously, I couldn’t put it down. Throughout this book I wanted to throw my arms around Melinda and tell her she’s not alone and everything will feel better in time. In many ways, I could relate to Melinda and some of the obstacles she experienced in school. The writing style is unique and unlike any other book I’ve read. It’s raw, honest, and witty when needed, without drawing away from the book’s important theme. I will never forget this book as it will always hold a special place in my heart.

Everything on this book is perfect but.. what about David?.. And
Laurie's style of writing reminds me of Jandy Nelson, who's style is as playful as Laurie's..
Kind of nice book, but I would be happier if it has more pages or continuation..
