Oh my goodness, I LOVED this book.

At first when reading it, I wasn't sure if I'd like it as much as Illuminae, it was a good, enjoyable book, that I loved, but it didn't have that little extra 'pow' to it. Then I got about half way through, and wow!

From the revelation of who the mole was, to the twin universes, it all just blew my mind. I was sure they'd have to kill off one of them to keep it different from the original, though it did sadden me, so I was really glad when this plot point came up! They wrote both what I'd expected (death) and hoped (they both live).

It was also great reading about the characters from the first book again, and of course AIDAN, who I just love, even though it's a computer!

I cannot wait for the final book!

It always takes a while for me to get into these books because the formatting is so different, but once I'm hooked, I'm hooked. These books are so well done and the use of formatting is so well done to tell this specific type of story. I love it. I really liked the characters in this book and the way you follow the story through all these different types of media. Sometimes it's quite hard to read, but that also makes it a bit of a fun puzzle, which I honestly quite like. I'm not a huge sci-fi fan, but it's quite easy to read if you're not. At one point the book did sort of lose me when they started talking about complicated sci-fi shizzle, but it wasn't too bothersome to make me enjoy the book less.

I don't know how this could be better than Illuminae, but holy shiitake mushrooms, it was so good. I can't even put together a damn coherent sentence together to convey what I read.

This sequel took all the good elements from the first book and added character development, a well planned plot, and some great twists.

This one definitely had me adding things up and turning things over in my head to figure out what was going on and I appreciated the added depth that I was really craving after the first installment.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read and expanded this story and characters as a whole to something I am actually emotionally invested in.
