the writing was not the best - too much repetition and some truly atrocious grammar choices but fuck it i was into it

3 starts for vibes and vibes alone and for fmc for having an actual brain

Bumped up from a two because the FMC isn't the annoying mafia princess damsel ray of sunshine. I did like morana, but I feel like the genius thing wasn't necessary and was just repeatedly told, not shown. Like I can't think of a single instance she showed higher than normal intelligence. You can be good with computers without being a genius.

My issues with it:
- I have never read about characters staring at each other so much in my life - like wow please do something already what???? It was a lot and unnecessary and awkward and just not for me.
- Secondly, Tristan makes 0 sense and kinda just confuses me while pissing me off at the same time.
- Thirdly, the backstory of why Tristan hates Morana... I mean... really? That's why? Mmmmkay no spoilers in this review so I'll leave it with - not good enough.

Now this part may just a preference for me and not an issue with the book, but I felt the third person story telling was an awkward choice or awkward execution. I usually don't mind it, but it seemed very noticeable (??) I guess in this read. Kinda wished it was in 1st.

Idk if it was the 3rd person POV, but this book is okay. I’m kind of disappointed because TikTok said it was sooo great and tbh it was mediocre. I’ve def read better mafia books. I think it was for sure the 3rd person pov that threw me off. Like girl, you had to write the ENTIRE book in 3rd person, really?? Is this entire series in 3rd person pov? This might be a series i won’t finish.

Slow build, but good enough to see what happens next.

The Predator was so highly recommended and I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect going into it. I had to really
get used to the third POV— I also really didn’t love that we didn’t get a POV from Tristan and only Morana.

This was a true enemies to lovers. The hatred and tension was so good between the main characters. It definitely was slow burn and really made you wait for it. Spice level was also very low but I am definitely intrigued to continue to series.

I love the tortured soul MMC and I actually really enjoyed Morana— she was very independent but also lonely and I really felt for her.
