I enjoyed this story of coming out and figuring out community and romance from an Armenian American perspective. I appreciated getting to learn more about Armenian culture through this lens

It's a shame I read this after lavash at first sight - there's a lot of similarities between the two (starting with the ending of a relationship with a white man at the beginning) so it was hard not to compare them, and it lavash at first sight has more writing experience and feels more polished.
I thought the drama and back and forth on coming out, family, cultural identity, and relationship dragged a little too long and I wish, especially with the longing for Erebuni when they're not talking, that it was a little more show than tell with "hope" "no hope" "hope again". Overall I think it could've been about 70 pages shorter and would've been stronger like that

I loved the romance parts of this, but it ended up dwelling on the drama, which I found stressful. I did enjoy a story about a minority group trying to preserve their culture as I can relate to that. I was glad to learn more about Armenian culture!

This was a cute rom com about finding/rediscovering identity and embracing who you are. It’s wholesome with no sex scenes, but very witty and funny.
