A winner from Abigail Reynolds! I liked it even more than Impulse & Initiative....in fact, this may be the best published P&P fanfic I've yet read. However, Austen purists are likely to object to the bodice-ripping as too far out of character, so consider yourself warned. If you love the bodice-ripping as I do, this is a great read. She definitely needs to continue writing these, and if I could ask, I'd have her do an actual sequel to add to these variations.

Davvero bello.

I have to admit I started off enjoying this adaptation, but I found I really struggled to read it after about the first third of the book.

The plot was interesting, however I felt there was too much going on. On top of some of the original conflicts, it just seems as though there is problem after problem and by the end I just wanted Elizabeth and Darcy to get on with the wedding if I'm honest.

I really did not like Mr Bennet, not only because of his behaviour but also because I felt he was entirely unlike the original Mr Bennet. I also felt like many characters, including Darcy, Elizabeth and Georgiana were too different from the original for me to enjoy their actions.

This is just my personal opinion. But nevertheless I wouldn't read this book again.

This was by far the worst of Reynolds' fanfics that I've read. Didn't like Elzabeth, her family and the story. At least the others I read were somewhat entertaining...

Every now and then I like to read a bit of trashy Jane Austen fan-fiction. Yeah. No judgements, it's my guilty pleasure. But this was too much for even me to handle.

This was probably more like a 2.5 star book. It was very readable - it took me approximately three hours to read it - but the content was indescribably cheesy. The basic premise is that Darcy ends up unable to leave Rosings after he proposes to Lizzy, and as a result they're forced to spend time together. Awkwardness ensues, along with many misunderstandings and some face-nomming, which leads to further awkwardness and misunderstandings. Rinse and repeat at the Gardiner's house in London until they're busted sucking face and end up engaged. The misunderstandings continue, with some added douchebaggery from various family members, and by about two thirds of the way through the book there's some decidedly pre-marital sexytimes happening. Rinse and repeat for the remaining third of the book, and you're done.

Mindless fluff that would definitely be E rated if it were posted on AO3.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I found it interesting how much the story changed with just two adjustments made by the author. The first change was related to plot, keeping Darcy near Lizzie after he had written the letter. The second was a change of the characters themselves, namely that they threw propriety out the window. The change in the importance of proper comportment surprised me a little because it's not something that I would imagine either Lizzie or Darcy doing, particularly in their time period; however, if this alteration is taken as a given, I think the story played out exactly as I would expect it to. It was a fun read, well written, and good at making you feel a little hot-under-the-collar. Great adaptation!

One of my least favourite variations - this Darcy, although fine in his own right just isn't Darcy enough to make it memorable. Also, reading this one so soon after reading another in the series, it's all just a bit samey.
