Like with Sweet Evil, Anna's world within Sweet Peril can feel a little hopeless at times. As the trilogy reaches it's peak Anna's purpose is made a little more clear, but that doesn't make the tasks she has to face any less daunting!

But even though the challenges that Anna faces seem so tremendous, she has some good friends and family backing her up, and that sparks some hope within this rather dark world. In this book some of those characters we met in Sweet Evil play a little larger role -- in particular Kope -- and we also meet a few new characters. But of course this series wouldn't be the same without Kaidan.

Poor Anna and Kaidan have so many obstacles they have to face in order to be together, and all of them are good reasons for them to stay apart. So it's hard to watch them struggle so much, but despite the hardships they face within their world as Nephs and within their relationship, they are so lovely to read about when they are together. They're beautiful and I truly hope that everything works out for them in the end.

So this is one of those books that I can't really say much more than that. A lot of this series is kind of a mystery along the way and discovering pieces to the puzzle that Anna and those on her side are trying to fit together in order to make their world a better place. So I don't want to ruin that for any potential readers.

If you're a fan of YA angel/demon (mostly demon) paranormal books that are a bit on the darker side then you'll probably love this series. While it's not dark as in gore and guts or anything like that, the world within the Sweet Trilogy is quite despairing and it can be hard to picture the characters actually being able to overcome the struggles they have to face. I hope they all come out on top in the end, but if you're a fan of reading those kinds of worlds then you'll probably enjoy this series. I know I'm really enjoying it, with it's layered world, difficult challenges, and engaging characters.

One of the most amazing sequels till date. Definitely better than most. It made me feel hott with love and cold with fear. It made me go soft with words of love and reassurance and hard with the threat of the situation. The thought of all that the Neph's have gone through and have to go through is so sad, it breaks my heart...but to see how strong, faithful and loyal they are despite everything sews it back together in hope so sweet I'm scared it'll shatter all over again.

The love between Kai and Anna...is like a song. Once you hear it, it steals it's way into your heart and haunts you with it's tune so that you never forget it, forget them

Reread January 2018. So, for some reason this book (and the other two) only had 3 star ratings, which I'm WAY confused about, because they're AMAZING! (Although that was like four years ago, so time has passed and I'm a lot more mature, I guess?) These books are the perfect mix of forbidden love, paranormal heaven-hell action, and growing up and finding yourself. On a reread, 4.5 stars for all 3.

I actually can't believe I've finished this. After almost a year...
I just feel really accomplished, for some reason, you know?
I'm just so happy I finished the book, let alone enjoyed the story.
Anyway, review to come as always.

Wow lots happened in this book. Anna really changes in the way of her thinking. She starts off as party girl Anna to keep up her bad girl appearance. Just to keep the spirits and Dukes off her back.
But all she really wants is Kai back.
So when her father sends her on a mission to band together all the Neph's she finally gets her wish to see him. But it won't be so easy as that, they have to break down their walls and hide from everyone. Kopano comes along with Anna to find others who want to help out in secret when the time comes.
But it really all comes down to who everyone can trust? Feelings get in the way... I kept thinking come on Kai just try and let your guard down. Please get with Anna.
Waiting for the next book to come in from the library.
