I inhaled this book when I was 13. Nothing else mattered. Sleep schedule was ruined. God bless.Ā

Itā€™s been so years since I read the series and I have gotten a resurgence of my love. In someways I was at aw at my recollection with lines and in other parts it felt like the first time again. I was able to take in the words and be sucked in. Honestly an amazing read. I Peeta will always have a special place in my heart. Just a great characterĀ

I LOVE THE HUNGER GAMES!! Peeta is so boyfriend and I just want to protect everlark with my heart and soul!!! Okay so thereā€™s a lot of debate on when Katniss fell in love with Peeta online <spolier> but she IS in love with him when she ā€œfakes itā€ in the interview saying when he didnā€™t have to be a threat she could be honest about how she felt. Her inner thoughts make it so obvious how much she cares for him, like deep deep love. Just my opinion. Also my heart hurts at the end because he thinks she faked it all and I just AHHH

the hunger games truly is the best YA dystopian fiction out there. especially during the YA dystopian boom of the early 2010s - nothing has been able to top it from what I've read. I wonder if this is considered speculative fiction on top of being dystopian/political.

I read this when it came out, I think I was eleven, and a lot of it went over my head because I was so young. I didn't catch the allegory really, nor did I fully understand the power of dystopian (or utopian, for that matter) fiction at that age. but with my knowledge and life experience now, I can say this is really phenomenal. I usually don't like reading, or listening, in the first person but third person would not have suited this book at all: we need to be inside katniss' head. it's just wonderfully written.

tatiana maslany was amazing! she's one of my favorite actors so I loved listening to this a little bit more

Slaps as hard as it did in middle school šŸ¤ŒšŸ» With adult eyes though Iā€™m wondering if Katnis was autistic. Iā€™m not sure the author wrote her with that intention but that was the final product and it made me love it more. A timeless classic dystopia that put the genre back on the map with its release.Ā
