I love these stories…

The storytelling brings this world to life, and oh what a wonderful world it is. The men are alphas protective to the core and the women are independent, making them earn their love.

4 1/2 Stars

I've enjoyed every book that I've read by Michelle M. Pillow, but this boxed set was better than her norm, I think. Even though all the books take place at approximately the same time, with each one going a little further in time than the last, there is not very much overlap of info. There is just enough that if someone grabbed book 2 or 3 to start, they wouldn't be lost.
I would definitely recommend this box set to any PNR/UF fan out there. Grab it and enjoy!!

The Barbarian Prince - Morrigan Blake is a reporter who joins the Galaxy Brides corporation in order to get the scoop on a royal wedding. She gets some fab perks along, enhancements to make her a better bride. However the downloads she gets are a bit vague and downright shoddy in parts. But no worries, she's not going to actually get married...right???

When Ualan sees Morrigan, the crystal around his neck glows which means she is his mate. After the claiming ceremony Morrigan tells Ualan that she has no intention of staying with him. When she is told that they are now married by the plants own law, she kind if goes into meltdown and declares herself a slave. Little knowing that as she is the one who indentures herself, she is the only one can break it. Ualan has to treat her as such until Morrigan asks the king and queen, his parents to pardon her and remove her slave status.

There follows a farcical rampage of disasters, least of which is Morrigans total lack of skills in the slave dept!!! She doesn't even know how to clean up the mess she makes trying to get one over on Ualan.

This story had a lot of sexual tension and humour. I did find it incredibly hard to like Morrigan. She is quite self centred and does things to spite herself. I'm not exactly a domestic goddess myself but even I know how to do the basic tasks Ualan sets her. Yesthings were kept from her and Ualans own traditions mean there are misconceptions, misundertandings and miscommunications but these could have been resolved if Morrigan wasn't quite so...Morrigan!!!!!!

The Perfect Prince - Nadja, from afar, looks like a pampered princess with the world at her feet. But up close she is trapped in a golden cage. Every minutiae of her life, including what she eats, wears and who she meets is controlled and monitored by her father. Her father is a powerful doctor in the "medical mafia" and when he announces that she is to marry his coleague, she realises that the time has come to flee.

Nadja ends up on the Galaxy Bride’s ship with Morrigan from book 1. Nadja wants a low key groom, a miner, farmer or local doctor. Nothing glamorous that will be broadcast on the news and alert her father to here whereabouts.

Prince Olek, 2nd of the 4 princes, is an ambassador. He knows that having wife would benefit him in his duties and dealing with offworlders. His crystal selects Nadja and he is ecstatic with its choice. He sets out to woo her and Nadja knows that if and when she removes Olek’s mask she is bound to him from that time on. She understands their traditions and knows he can't say too much but believes he is a simple working man.

The feathers fly when Nadja realises that he is a Prince, she believes she has fled from one cage to another. She believes that being married to royalty will bring her father to her doorstep. There is much conflict but also passion between Nadja and Olek. I also loved the rapport between her, the other princesses and the Queen. It was very much girl power LOL. The worst happens and her father finds her but will she capitulate or will she fight for her freedom?????

As with other Mandy books, this overlaps with other books in the series so that you see the same action from different perspectives. I took to Nadja a lot more quickly than I did Morrigan. She seemed to just make a niche for herself with the locals and acclimatise that much better. The final set piece in the show off between herself and her father was wonderful and I would have been disappointed if Olek removed the problem for her.

The Dark Prince - Olena, space pirate, is running for her life. She and her crew have spread to the winds and she has crashed and needs to get away from bounty hunters following her. The Galaxy Brides ship is the closest to hand to use for her getaway. She decides marrying someone for a few months whilst she lies low and searches for her crew is the best plan she can come up with.

Yusef is one of the princes taking part in the bride selection process. He knows as soon as he sees Olena that she is his, and that with that fiery red hair she is going to be a handful.

I love this series. Although all are separate stories, the action overlaps at different points in each book, so you can read them out of order. I also loved Olena and Yusef together. They are quite playful, funny characters and the banter was easy between them. There is plenty of passion and Olena is not shy on acting on it.

Olena was quicker to catch on that the princes are shifters, maybe because she was used to dealing with shifters on her crew. The book answered what the chastisement was from earlier books, which had been driving me mad!!! Olena never worked the ‘oh poor me’ routine, even when she could have done.

The Warrior Prince - Pia Korbin, is on the run! She was an assassin and whilst on a job she attracted the slimy attention of the mayors son. After being forced to kill him when he attempted to rape her, she runs and escapes on the Galaxy Brides Ship.

Her body had been burned, over 60% of it, during an explosion whilst escaping her home planet. During her trip to Quilixen she has been given extensive reconstructive surgery. Even though she no longer has the scars, she still feels ugly and unworthy.

When Zoran claims her as his bride, she is convinced he is making fun of her. She hates the rules that he tried to have her abide by. She wants her freedom!!! There ensues a struggle for the upper hand.

Both are strong and forceful personalities and there are more than a few misunderstandings. There is a breakdown in their self imposed barriers and the HEA was just perfect. While there were not a lot of sex scenes, there was a lot of sexual tension. The love scenes are forceful and there is BDSM like scenarios but they are not forced and are very much consensual!!!

I loved this series and seeing the story evolving from the differing points of view of the heroines was fantastic. No spoilers but I loved the multi HEA in the epilogue!!!!!
