An unexpected and very interesting short story.
The narrator was a particularly likeable character, in my opinion. The protagonist, on the other hand, I found incredibly annoying, and generally too obscure to fully grasp the symbolism that I'm sure was there.
I liked that the built-up tension was never excessive.
