There'll only be four issues and I'm definitely invested! It's so interesting to see Maxim as a young prince, rebelling against his father and working toward the future he wants.

I've seen this series of books on Instagram and on my friends TBR and bookstgram but I am always afraid to start something everyone is talking about, because I get disappointed.

So when I saw this one I jumped to the chance to read it because the comics seems like a good place to test the waters and honestly I loved it! It has everything I like; magic, parallel words, an arrogant price, street fights and messed up royalties!

SHADES OF MAGIC will definitly be on my TBR now

The art is pretty, but the story is kinda hard to follow. Still good, though.

Not super impressed with this. But I'm also not really a comic person. The story hasn't really picked up yet, but I trust Victoria and I'm sure it will. Unfortunately I'm not loving the art style either. Actually seeing Red London is such a cool thing, and I wish the art was more to my liking.

the only thing I remembered loving about this book is the pirate queen who is a bone sorceress, and she can manipulate bones. The prince was in there too, but I felt like he was a hardhead, but he's likeable. Other than that, that's it.

I absolutely love the art. It's stunning, really guys. I already know that this is going to be epic.
What bothered me though were the action scenes. They were quite confusing and I didn't know what was happening or whom it happend to.
Also, this was a little short, but I should have expected that. This is how comics work. But this is actually the first time I am reading a comic issue by issue and not the bind-up, so I'll have to get used to it. Or maybe I'll just wait for the bind-up to come out. But the different covers are just so beautiful that I know I'll end up buying them anyways haha.

A solid introduction that leaves me hoping for more.
