Kallum and Halen's story continues to unravel with chaos and mysteries in this desolate city setting. The author weaves in philosophy, psychology, and even elements of the esoteric and magical, which adds to the suspense and intrigue of the tale. Halen is determined to catch the Harbinger killer, but things get even more intense when a new threat emerges, and Kallum is hot on her heels, trying to keep her from escaping again. Halen's struggles with trust and questioning her sanity make the story even more gripping. The fast-paced narrative, lyrical writing, and unexpected twists kept me glued to the pages until the end. The chemistry and banter between Kallum and Halen are electric, and the book delves into cult rituals, murder, and psychological themes. I can't wait for the next book in the series! If you're a fan of psychological thrillers with philosophical and esoteric elements, I highly recommend checking this one out!

Every time these people kiss they bite each others lips hard enough to draw blood. Their lips would be totally fucked. Not realistic

didn't know how to rate the first book so I didn't. I flew through it so fast but I figured out why. Any time Kallum would talk about philosophy/philosophers I would tune out. In the books he is a college professor of philosophy and to be honest some of the time felt like I was back in school. And I just couldn't understand it. I did not enjoy that part. But the mystery and the spice I did. I am dnf'ing the series after book 2. The mystery has been solved (at least for me). I'm giving it 3 stars though because while I didn't like that aspect of series I have read books by her before and enjoyed them and will read her again if it's something that looks enjoyable to me.
