I love that this is listed under "intelligent cats". So accurate.

This book was the second part of Monstress, and I must admit that I found it a little shorter than the first installment!
Nevertheless, it contained less bloody scenes than Part 1, and some more information of Maika's background.
It also let us know of what happened in the cliffhanger of the first part.
And, ended on a cliffhanger itself.
Can't wait to read on to the third part to know what's going to happen!

All in all, 4 stars, as we start getting more into the story!

After the first issue I was awed enough to immediately continue with the second issue. After some initial disappointment - there were only 30 pages in this issue - I really liked this issue. The artwork is as splendid as before and it is the strongest point of the comic.

Being so short, there isn't too much room for development of the stories, but I got the idea that there were quite some new things is this installment. The story takes a turn for the dark.

Very good issue again!

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Beautiful artwork. It's still early enough yet and the world is intriguing and violent and sad. I like the backstory of how the graphic novel came to be a little more than I like the actual graphic novel. But I think it's because for me, I'm used to reading the trade paperbacks so it's hard for me to review a monthly. There just isn't enough to hold me over. I may have to wait until the run is done.

Absolutely amazing! A lot more dense part comparing with the first one, it's packed with information. The artwork is just perfect and it really pulls me into the story. I got to know secondary characters better and the plot becomes more complicated than what I anticipated. I can't guess what comes next.

Everything just gets more and more interesting in this series!!! This is by far my most favorite comic book right now. The illustrations are without a doubt, still flamboyant and beautiful as ever. ART DECO COULD NEVER BE PORTRAYED SO BEAUTIFULLY IN GRAPHIC NOVELS LIKE THIS ONE. Plus, there's a lot of new characters; pretty bad-ass villains and hands down for such a strong feminine cast. SRSLY. It's like one of the best things in this one! I'll certainly read the next issue sooner.
