I think I would have enjoyed this series when I first got into fantasy as a teen. As an adult it just didn't work for me.

This book spent way too long away from Belgarion. We got lots of female POVs which I imagine was a big deal in the 80s.  The Torak fight and death scene was pretty great.  Lady Polgara giving up everything for love, come on, really!?!?  The epilogue was way too long, and they ALL got married.

This series is absolutely beautiful! I recommend it to anyone introducing themselves to fantasy, and to those familiar with the genre and want to subject themselve's to a classic fantasy feel.

Solid ending to a decent series. Not something I'd rave about, but certainly ok.

As always a pure delight reading this series!
I love the characters and the humor. Finally Garion gets a bit less oblivious.

This was an emotional ride for me, for the first time I read this, last part, as we didn't have it in Serbia when I was reading it as a teen. There were some places when I was a bit mad, I admit, because the characterization was a bit off, but I can get over it as all it all, it was awesome. I admit I cried in the end a bit, especially when D....... died, cuz damn that man did not deserve to die, but yay, it al turned out OK in the end :D I put off finishing this one because I didn't want to part with the series, and then I got physical copies of all five for my birthday and I had to finally finish it xD
