I feel like the murderer had to depend on so many people doing exactly what they expected that it just seemed exceedingly unreal. They were really banking on the narrator murdering person even though it was highly unlikely.

Amy, did you finish this book in just one day? Yes, yes I did. It was a quick, fast read. Great for Halloween, also just great to read on an airplane or at the beach or whatever. I guessed what had happened about halfway through, maybe earlier, but it was still a good read.

I think my problem with this book was that people hyped it up for me and I ended up predicting the end halfway through. Great idea for a story I just found it a bit too predictable.
