Cherry Magic was just as good as everyone said!! The premise of a 30-year-old virgin gaining the power to read minds immediately intrigued me, but I was hesitant about how it would be executed. I was afraid Adachi would be shamed/ridiculed by the narrative, but I feel like his virginity wasn't used as a joke and instead approached with nuance! I'm happy about that as I loved the magical twist and how Adachi suddenly has to deal with being able to read his hot colleague's mind who's head over heels for him 👀 He doesn't have any romantic experience and is overwhelmed by Kurosawa's interest, especially as he's more of an 'average' guy. I really felt for Adachi, he's quite awkward in most situations, but also really perceptive. He isn't sure how to feel about his new powers at first and I'm so curious to see where this goes, as his mind-reading abilities have a lot of potential!

The romance is SO sweet and melted my heart. Adachi's blown away by Kurosawa's pining thoughts and it was quite cute how much he was yearning to see Adachi happy and cared for. A bonus chapter tells us more about Kurosawa and how his good looks are often the only thing people see. He's a kind person but often reduced to being 'eye candy' because he works in the sales department. Adachi's unsure how to deal with Kurosawa's attraction at first and is scared he's going to take advantage, but nothing untoward happens. He's slowly figuring out if he likes Kurosawa back and I guess he's also exploring what it would mean to be attracted to another man. I'm already rooting for these two!

The only thing I struggled with was the amount of different fonts and speech/thoughts bubbles. With Adachi's own thoughts & narration, his mind-reading abilities and the dialogue, there was a lot going on in the panels. Often there would be text right next to the speech bubbles and it took me a while to figure out that it was meant as additional dialogue and not internal monologue! Sometimes the font was different for no discernable reason, which I think can be hard to read for some people. It took me a bit to get used to the specific style of portraying dialogue/thoughts in this Manga!
