Entirely too much plot. JK - This is just porn in a zombie apocalypse.

I liked reading this, I did, however there were a few issues for me personally. I didn't like how Dan talked, which sounds super weird but I always felt what he was saying either needed to be said sarcastically or it didn't sound right, even when he was being series. I found Ali to act a bit younger than her age. She's in her 30s and I kept imagining her as a early 20s girl. And my issues with Finn were more to do with his weird jealousy over a girl he just met and his 'alpha' attitude. I don't know if it was because he's a cop or what but he treated her like a child all the time even when she wasn't doing anything bad or silly. I also disliked how Dan thought about Ali. She was his girl from the beginning and without talking to her about it decided it was safest for her to sleep with both him and Finn. They all got better in the end and so did the book but everyone just seemed super childish and acted like Ali was a toy, including Ali herself sometimes.

My last issue was the condoms. And not in a 'I'm a horny bitch and you can't have condoms in a book' way, but this is a post apocalyptic world. No way in fucking hell would a condom be in the bag you're packing. Dan mentions the first time he packed it just in case, then Finn seems to have a never ending supply in his bag. No. I don't see that being realistic at all. Birth control is the last thing on your mind when you see your neighbours eating each others faces off, literally. Especially after two months. I gave a pass on the tooth brushing because humans are weird and try to keep their lives similar, but I just cannot accept this unless both characters were sex addicts before the outbreak. That being said, it's highly likely because they both act like Ali has a golden vagina that squirts out beer or something. Dans sees her and literally he's instantly in love. Instantly wants to bang her even though she's covered in dirt and piss and stuff (it says dirty but come on she's been up there hiding she'd be grotty) and Finn sees her AT A DISTANCE THROUGH BINOCULARS and claims he needs to go protect her because Dan is shit at it. I get it, women are in short supply and you haven't seen anyone, but two months doesn't make you STARVED for sex like you'd die without it. I kinda got Dans instalove and stuff because he said he hadn't seen anyone so he clung to her. But as it went on I lost my understanding because it really was just instalove.

I wanted more about the dogs, more about the army and I see book two is a guy who was thrown out of the group but the synopsis says he kidnaps her so I'm super weary to read that it made me feel a little icky. Which is saying something with the shit I read, but I don't really want the whole story to revolve around that so we shall see. I personally wanted Erin to get a guy but oh well.

Writing was ok, the story and characters were all pretty good. I loved the zombies and their concepts and it ended well minus the last chapter because I didn't feel it was needed, but all in all I liked the book.

If you are reading this and don't have a pervy heart, back slowly away from this review.
Now, if you were surviving the zombie apocalypse what would you want?
A) a nice big gun to defend yourself.
B) an endless supply of food and resources.
C) a great secret hidey hole where no zombie can find you and do some flesh munching.
Or
D) two incredibly hot horny guys who both want you.
Take your time thinking about it.

Times up!!!!!!
Now you have an idea of what this book is about. You guessed it. Zombies and sex. Lots of sex. No!!! Not -zombie- sex, gah! Get your mind out of that bizarre gutter if that's what you're thinking.
It's good I read this book while everyone in the house was asleep, because I basically had my eyeballs glued to my kindle screen. For two hours. If hubs would have seen me, and read what I was reading, I believe he would think I've lost all my marbles.
This book is just fun. Don't think, don't waste brain matter reading it, just enjoy the damn thing. Lemons, zombies, and perhaps a bit of ménage. Did I mention it was hot? HOT. No true pervy heart can resist. Now, go read the fucking thing.

This was a completely random find for me, I had an idea of what kind of book I wanted to read but had no idea what book and I stumbled across this. IM HAPPY I DID. Such a good book and picks up pretty fast. Some parts more a little to fast imo but that’s the only reason for the 4 starts and not 5. Good plot and a few decently spicy scenes. No choosing and a hea. Definitely interested to see what happens in book 2.

I’m giving this one 3 stars for the novelty of the storyline. I saw someone else describe it as post apocalyptic erotica. And it is definitely that. There’s a terrible virus that turns humans (and perhaps animals) into zombies. As the world falls apart, Allie, or heroine, hides in the attic of a neighbors house because the “infected” can’t climb. When she is finally driven out of hiding to scrounge for supplies, she meets the handsome and infuriating Daniel. He falls for her onsite. Very insta lovey but it is the end of the world and all that so I’m giving that a pass.
Daniel convinces Allie that they should move on to a place where they can set up a house with land they can tend and better protection. As they move in, they encounter a group of men who decide they’d rather take Allie for their own. Finn helps them escape, this setting up the potential for problems or ménage, because, again it’s the end of the world.
Not only do they struggle with their new relationship, keeping her safe, and a town where nefarious things keep befalling Allie, but they have to learn to navigate this new world.
It’s definitely different. There is lots of steam. And lots of gore which is not my thing. There is no softening of death and ickiness. There is another book but I don’t know that I’ll jump on it.

It isn't all just sex and zombies, don't worry. There is actually a story in there. I know, I know, I was shocked too. It is the story of survivors, doing their best to stay that way. Think of it as an X-rated version of the Walking Dead.

Main Characters

Daniel Cross: He is in his early 40's. A loner, but not in a creepy way. He is smart and funny. A caregiver but not a skilled protector. A realist.

I'm going to be totally honest here, I'm not sure how the author described Daniel's appearance because the moment I read anything close to "hot older guy", George Clooney's image is stamped onto my brain.

Ali Jameson: She was a secretary before the apocalypse. She is 32 with dirty blonde hair. Ali is stronger than she realizes and very smart. She survived the first 60 days of the apocalypse by hiding in her neighbor's attic. This kept her safe and afforded her a hell of a view.

Finn Edwards: A cop before the apocalypse. He has strong protective instincts. In his 20's with pale green eyes. Slightly more angry and impulsive than Daniel is.

Review
Post-apocalyptic Erotica. Yep, you read that right. It works though.

There is plenty of steamy sex, but also a good bit of comedic relief from Daniel.

It isn't all just sex and zombies, don't worry. There is actually a story in there. I know, I know, I was shocked too. It is the story of survivors, doing their best to stay that way. Think of it as an X-rated version of the Walking Dead.
“I only took off my shirt, Daniel. The bra isn't even all that revealing," she replied, cool as can be, plush mouth set all prim and proper. "If all it takes for you to lose your cool is the hint of hard nipple then I'm concerned on your behalf."
"Shit. Say hard nipple again."
Her body vibrated beneath him with soft laughter. "No.”

I like that Daniel is such a realist. He doesn't want to share Ali, but knows that Finn can offer a level of protection that he cannot. And the best way to make sure that Finn wants to keep Ali safe as much as Daniel does, is by allowing him the same access to her body and heart.

They form an odd but functional little family. That has sex with each other, of course.

The book does run a bit on the shorter side. At least, as far as my usual tastes are concerned. I must say that despite its length, Kylie Scott managed to fill the pages with action. The story never felt stagnant to me.

I know I am going to sound crazy when I say this considering we are talking about a zombie apocalypse and a threesome, but it actually felt real.
