Cute and fun. The completely silly premise of a baby with a mustache works and really comes alive with the vibrant, adorable illustrations that compliment the story nicely.

One of the most adorable and creative children's book. :)

Silly. But a bunch of pretend, which is fine. Basically harmless. Not an especially interesting idea. I did want them to trim the mustache in the end, so I was a bit disappointed.

Mustache Baby
Brief summary When the baby is born his parent worry about whether or not he is a good guy or bad guy - only time will tell what kind of mustache will grow.
Annotation - This is a great book that is much more about mood and how children act then appears on the surface.
Age appropriateness 0-5 years old. All kids will like the pictures.
Connection to six early literacy skills
Print Motivation - A fun story to tell and to hear with great pictures.
Narrative Skills -This story has a strong beginning middle and end that children can easily identify. The mustache really tells the story
Opinion - a cute book with great illustrations that really hits upon how the baby’s mood is reflective of his mustache.

This one was funny, but I wasn't quite as familiar with the concept of "curly moustache"="bad guy" as the text assumed I was.

The humor in this is really for elementary school kids, though the preschool storytime kids liked it, and kindergarten liked it a lot.

I did think, after I'd read it, that perhaps I won't read it again. If a child in the class had an incarcerated parent, it probably wouldn't be too funny.
