I'm glad that the twins finally have a storyline, they were just accessory until now. I did however think that there was too much going on and not a lot of closure at the end of the book.

Contains Spoilers from Previous books

If I try to do my own summary of this I will no doubt give away major spoilers from this book so I am going leave it out of this review because the description pretty much covers it. Now there will be spoilers from previous books so if you haven't read the series it is best not to read on. All you need to know is that I love the series and Destined was exciting, thrilling and amazing but with a few flaws.

Destined picks up a day after Awakened finished. Now I loved Awakened and the ending was just OMG, Heath!!! Yeah I am team Heath always have been and always will be. And the twist that the cast ladies put in Awakened was EPIC! So I have been excited to finally get a chance to read Destined.

The gang are all back minus poor Jack :'( Zoey I know alot of people don't like her but I do. She has been consisted from book 1 and her strength as a protaginist grows with each book. Now there is some things I don't like about her but it's nothing major just some of words she uses like "bullpoopie" seriously? who says that? Her relationship between her friends isn't as strong in this installement but she is still a good leader and her friends look up to her. Aswell, as Zoey and the gang and the rest of the amazing characters from previous books, we get a new character to love/hate. Aurox. (this is where the spoiler from previous books comes)
SpoilerHe is a gift from the White Bull to Neferet, for her to use as a weapon to create chaos. But He is flawed. In Awakened, Heath's soul was put into Aurox. So even though he is meant to be dark and evil Aurox is remembering that he is Heath even though he doesn't actually knkow it and that he feels for Zoey. I know I should have hated him for the evilness but I couldn't because I knew Heath was in there and I love me some Heath.

As with previous books in the series. Destined takes place over a very short period of time I think it was around five days. But the Cast's are excellent story tellers and managed to fill this book with action, passion, humour and love it was just an excellent storyline and once again typical of these books leaves you on one hell of a Cliffhanger!!!

However, this is not prefect! There is flaws and it's mainly some of the words used by a few of characters. I was actually shocked that they had used a couple of words that were actually rude and very offensive to some people. So for that I had to drop a star. Some words I don't want to hear in book, especially in YA novels.

Overall though, a must read for any House of Night fan! I am really looking forward to next installement to where the story goes.

Definitely one of the better written books of this series.

Well first this I actually enjoyed this book, it's a nice reprieve from the past few books. However, Zoey, her character is quite childish and heavily irritating. I used to like her but ummm not so much anymore.

I still like the others though, like Raphiem, I love him! Stevie Rae eh she is usually ok, this book she was slightly irritating especially when it came to Raphiem's relationship with Kalona (who I still love btw *winks*). Kalona showed a different side of himself in this book, he showed a nurturing and compassionate side, the side where he had missed his favorite child, his favorite son, Raphiem. He missed Raphiem, and through this book he showed the softer side of him, it was great. Shaunee had finally broken away from Erin, it was quite nice to see their personalities separately.

But what I loved about this book was "Aurox" I had thought basically from the very beginning that he was sounding very familiar to an old character of the series. So when his inner self was revealed I wasn't surprised at all.

Also Kalona has gone to the side of good, he is going to be Thanatos's Warrior. Now that deems to make things a little more interesting in future books, considering I still see something going on between him and Zoey.

I have some issues with this book. Bias aside considering PC is my favorite author, I seriously don't like the continuous usage of the R word as an insult, and the short bus jokes.

As an author who makes it her intent to include a diverse cast, she should not have included scenes that were demeaning and discriminatory.

Not only did she include those scenes and derogatory phrases, but she then presented a character who was disabled and tried to (in my opinion) use that to balance the negativity in the beginning. Then the character was miraculously fixed and given an amazing gift. Of course, the horrible jokes began again, and Neferet (evil character so maybe it's not really that bad but still frustrating) called this blind turned seeing character "broken".

I love this series and I love PC but I just can't get past the horrible way disabilities were presented in this book. Especially when all of the other books are so diverse and inclusive in a great way.

I was 17 when I read this series the last time, so my views have obviously changed from then, but this has always been an issue for me for book 9.

This was one of the most poorly written book series I have ever read. My neurodivergent brain I had to finish the series and it progressively got worse. I never thought I would find a worse writing style than Twilight, worse character and world development not to mention the fact that the plot is horrible. This series was one of the biggest regrets that I’ve read right up there with Twilight and 50 shades.
