I did not really want to read this book. It is one of my mother's books and she recommended that I read it, even though we do not have the same taste in books. This one just took me for a surprise. When I first started reading it, I did not like it. I found it slow and boring. Although the book has 102 chapters, they are really short. Maybe 5 or 6 pages tops. Once I made the time to truly just sit down and read the book, I was hooked. I want to read the other books in the series. It was not what I was expecting at all. I just needed to give it a chance. I loved guessing what would happen next and who was good or bad. Overall a good read. Once you sit down and read it, its a quick and easy read.

I try to spread out my reading of this type of book. I tend to lump these conspiracy/government agent/spy novels into a single bucket and this one fits pretty well. It is better than most, but the ending is a bit of a stretch as is common in the genre. I would recommend reading it, but as always go into it for the enjoyment of the book and try to set aside a bit of the believability.

The narration in the audiobook is quite good.

Wow, a whole month to finish one book... that doesn't happen very often!

As always, another great Camel Club book. This one was much more focused on Oliver Stone than the club, and I missed some of the other characters. This book also seemed to have many more twists and turns. Was very hard to figure out what was really going on and who the good guys vs. the bad guys were.

Great book!

I picked this up at the Chicago airport. It involved government conspiracies and Washington D.C... 2 of my favourite things. However the ending kind of ruined it for me, and also the very predictable pattern it fell into. Nothing special.

Disappointing. Everything plotwise just seemed to come far too neatly, with the Camel Club members used repeatedly as a deus ex machina.

Another winner from Baldacci. The Camel Club is a unique "crime fighting unit" for lack of a better term, and Oliver Stone is one of Baldacci's signature characters. The plot twists at the end make this a 5-star story. Misdirection is frequent but plausible, and the red herrings are legitimate until the real story comes out. Even when we (my wife listened with me as we travelled for two long days on the road) thought we had a plot twist figured out, we were still fooled.

The premise of "Nano bots" is intriguing (don't want to spoil the plot further) and seems believable. If you're a Baldacci fan, this story won't disappoint.

I really enjoyed this book. I am glad too, that I chose to listen to an audiobook-- the readers truly added depth and personality to the characters. The book was intriguing from beginning to end, with very few predictable aspects. When I thought I had figured out one thing, another twist came along to distract me. It kept me intrigued right until the very end.
Baldacci created characters who were strong and well-developed.
This book made me want to read some of the Camel Club stories.
