Loved this! If you’re a fan of books such as Alice in wonderland, Peter Pan, and narnia - I think you will enjoy this!

Whimsical and beautifully written. In the tradition of children's canon like THE PHANTOM TOOLBOOTH, the characters are less characters than archetypes. I recommend reading THE GIRL WHO RULED FAIRYLAND--FOR A LITTLE WHILE before this, the first of the Fairyland books, as I did, to fully grasp the extent of Mallow's tragedy.
Moderate: Violence and Blood
Minor: Body horror and Child abuse

Overall Thoughts:
⁕ The element I enjoyed most about this book was the author’s writing style. I can best describe it as Alice in Wonderland meets a Series of Unfortunate Events — clever quips, personified objects/concepts, and a self aware narrator.
⁕ The flow of this story was all over the place. The beginning was way too fast and the middle dragged on and on.
⁕ The main character was overshadowed by Fairyland itself. As a reader who heavily invests in character development, I was so bored.
