good combo of drawn out film analysis and standard Ayoade style humour - never fails to delight

The best part was my dawning horror that I had in fact watched this film before and I therefore understood what had inspired Ayoade to write this.

I had to take laughter breaks. I dragged my listening of this book out because I did not want the experience to end. It’s hilarious. Everyone involved with the movie ‘Top’ should feel honoured that Ayoade has given such thought to their movie.

I've always thought Richard Ayoade was really funny, but about 10 minute into this I became worried it wouldn't live up to expectations due to me never having heard of, let alone seen View from the Top but I was worried for nothing. This book made me laugh out loud, and I think I enjoyed it that much more because I chose to download it on Audible which enabled me to hear and appreciate Ayoade's true passion for the film.

Maybe a 3-star book in a different context, but as a distraction from COVID-19 self-isolation, at least a 4-star. I listened to the audiobook while taking my daily walks, and Richard Ayoade's soothing narration lowered my stress level and made me laugh a few times.
The subject matter is incredibly stupid, but I was predisposed to enjoy this because I already knew I like Ayoade's sense of humor. This probably isn't the place to start if you're unfamiliar with his style.
