Brilliant fourth instalment of one of my childhood favourites. Still love it and so different from the tv series that was made. Continuing on on series....

Ah, W.I.T.C.H. So much of my childhood was spend obsessing over the series. The books. The comics. The cartoon. The merchandise. You name it I was into it.

So why only the three stars if I loved it so much?

Well as time went by, I grew disinterested in the series. I went along with it mainly to see how it ended. I simply wanted to know what the final outcome was.

Surely that is not enough to merit three stars? You loved it!

I did, but that was because I was a pre-teen with very low expectations. This came before my vampire-loving period, so you can imagine what my standard was like. Don’t get me wrong, they’re not bad books – they’re simply not something I can go back to now that I’m older.

Thoroughly enjoyable at the time, but not quite so much now.

This has unquestionably been the best book so far in my re-read.

In the last book, Taranee begged Will to leave her behind in Metamoor in order to save herself and the others - so Will listened to her. Cornelia was not very happy about that decision and thought it wasn't fair that Will got to make that decision without consulting anybody else first.

This book picks up where the last one left off. The girls make a plan to return to Metamoor and rescue Taranee. They use their magic to create doubles of themselves before leaving, so that their parents and teachers won't notice that they're gone.

On the way to their destination they will run in to troubles that they never expected, and discover things about Metamoor they didn't know before. But while they are going through these tribulations, Taranee is running out of energy to fight back against Elyon's manipulation and wonders if Elyon is right and her friends have really abandoned her forever.

A great book to this day and I hope that the rest of the series keeps getting even better!!!
