"It doesn't matter how much you love someone, or how hard you try, there's no guarantees in life."

SpoilerI've only discovered Sarah Bennett's books this year, but she has definitely proven herself to be very capable delivering uplifting romance stories. While I do prefer the Bluebell Castle books over this series, I knew the final Lavender Bay book was probably going to be my favorite as Libby was my favorite of the three women from the beginning. Book three takes place partly during the same time as the first two books, so it is definitely key to read them in order to avoid major spoilers. That said, I really enjoyed discovering more about Libby as well as Owen and while only a small part is set during Christmas time, it does have that holiday spirit. It was great to meet up with the different characters in play again, and I liked how everything was wrapped up in the end... Including how it gave us more insight in what happened next in the lives of Libby's two friends and previous main characters Beth and Eliza.

when you think the first two books in this series were brilliant along comes this last book, full of pure raw emotion. this book has you hooked from the first page as you know about Libby from the other two books and want to see her have her happy ever after!

Libby had lived in Lavender Bay all of her life, unlike her friends that left to start new lives elsewhere, after her mum died she stayed and help run the family fish and chip shop with her dad, to cover her sweet warm nature she dies her hair all sorts of colours.

Owen comes to Lavender Bay to try to trace his birth mother but gets more than he bargains for, with going into business and falling for his pixie Libby. at first, they clash but then they start a relationship in secret.

Libby and Owen are such an unlikely couple but they work, they have their ups and downs but everyone apart from them can see that they love each other, Owen nearly ruins everything with his deal with Libby's dad that he can't tell her about.

It's nice to see all the characters from the other books play a major part of this story.

I am gutted this series has come to an end, I loved it, maybe we can have one book following all of them a few years later!

I couldn’t wait to be back on the journey with Libby, her character was built up beautifully through the first two books. She is a fiery, independent young lady who falls in love with Owen Coburn pretty much as soon as she see’s him. Much to her own denial obviously!

I really enjoyed how this book would flit between Libby and Owen and the relationship that grew between these characters was both frustrating (in all the right ways) and magical. I loved how all of the characters were one big family in little Lavender Bay, and it was extra heart-warming that it featured over Christmas.

The big plot secret was heavily featured around Owen ‘Finding himself’ and Libby ‘Following her dreams’ and reading this book I found it unfolded beautifully. The only complaint I have about this book is that the ending snuck up on me! I could have kept on reading, and while all the pieces of the puzzle were revealed.. I found myself surprised that I reached the ending! I’d have loved to have seen a little more of their stories, but now the reader has a ton of things to imagine so it leaves you with a warm feeling.

Overall: 4**** – This was a warm pleasant holiday read. The characters were ‘Swoonworthy’ and such a glorious wrap up to Libby’s journey. Perfect to read snuggled up with a hot chocolate and a blanket!
