Swear

Can't believe the serials ended. Still shocked and can't wait to see what Amanda has come up with next. Amazing ending to a great series

I really enjoyed finishing Alice's story. I have to say this is one of the series that really kept me reading as a teenager. I can distinctly remember sneaking onto my kindle during an AP government class in the 10th grade to read the first books and falling in love with the characters. That was almost 6 years ago, and I have been waiting patiently to see how Alice's story ends. This book was great and I loved the mystery about it. At one point I felt like I was watching an episode of CSI (and I loved it) and at other times I was on the brink of tears remembering that these characters were a part of my teen years and I was reading their final sendoff. I have to say I was really emotional while I read this book and really took it slow. It was also nice seeing how much Amanda Hocking's writing skill has grown since the first novels. I re-read the entire series before starting on this final book and as a writer, it makes me feel good to see other writers keep working and getting better at their skills. Amanda Hocking has always been one of my favorite writers, but with every book by her that I read, I find myself enjoying her writing even more. Saying goodbye to these characters (especially Alice, Milo, Jack, and Bobby) was bittersweet, but I can't wait to read whatever stories Amanda Hocking will write next.

This really wasn't so bad except I agree with previous reviewers that the ending was shocking. I feel this was her way to get people off her back about the 3 way between the characters

This is absolutely not the way I imagined this series to end. And I’m not sure I like it.
This kind of destroyed everything for me in a way.
I’ve loved this series for about 10 -ish years, and I was more than in love with the 4 previous ones...but this didn’t work for me.

I was ok with where the series ended originally. This is the final wrap up and while I felt certain scenes were built up, they ended very quickly. But this books gives us a final goodbye to Peter and Elise, Alice and Jack, Milo and Bobby, and Ezra and Mae. So that's nice. It's a not quite happily ever after but, in a good way. A way that should have been obvious from the start.

I still wish she'd give us a 3rd Hollowland instead. That series feel a unfinished regardless of her stand on it.
