While some of the legal-drama like parts of the story captured my attention, like the 3 issues centred around Captain America, I'm a bit bummed by the lack of agency from She-Hulk/Jen Walters in her own series. She-Hulk's narrative was mostly reactive. I think this run was meant to highlight her brilliance as a lawyer and how that crosses over at times with her role as a superhero, so I anticipated seeing her in more active problem solving situations. Instead, sometimes it felt like She-Hulk was a side character in her own run. The conclusion to the Blue File arch was lacklustre for me, and again, felt like external forces were pushing She-Hulk/Jen around rather than her maneuvering around obstacles in a case. Not to mention how supporting characters like Hellcat and Angie felt under used in the narrative. I felt as though there could have been deeper and richer connections made between characters to highlight the struggles She-Hulk/Jen were experiencing and struggling with, and by extension highlight her agency in starting a new phase of her career as a lawyer (and superhero).

"She-Hulk" by Soule and Pulido was a delight. I particularly enjoyed the story with Captain America and Matt Murdock and all the emotional and legal nuance that came with it. There were so many villain surprises, which I always love. She-Hulk's sass, power, and smarts were on full display, and I loved it. For the most part, I liked the art, but there were two comics with art that I absolutely hated. Everyone has different tastes though. I definitely recommend this collection.

Really enjoyed this collection, I love seeing Jen just be a bad-ass lawyer. Plus, appearances from Dr. Doom, elderly Captain America, and Matt Murdock? Great stuff. And Jen's paralegal and Hellcat are really fun characters.

The only thing I can't get over is how much I detest the way that She-Hulk was drawn. The artwork in these books is fun, a rather cute and colorful style unlike a lot of the other She-Hulk runs, but there are some panels were she just looks horrible, imo. In a story where she spends 95% of the time in Hulk form I feel like you have to really nail it, and while I understand that they tried to go for something different it just really did not work for me.

Still really enjoyed the book, though!

A fun read! Love to see superhero lawyers actually get to do lawyer stuff. The resolution felt rushed though and some of the panel layouts were confusing, would be four stars otherwise.

I always find these type of compilations a challenge when being dropped in the middle of a timeline with the expectation that I have some background about the entire history of every character that is touched upon. Some books do this well, others not so much. This one made an effort to give background where it was absolutely necessary, but also just also realized it didn’t really matter that much. A fun read.
