i love you janet, i really really do. I love ur wit and the way u write. and I'm so in love with the stephanie plum world. I love the characters so much. With that said... the last 6 books of this series have been seriously lacking what the first books had. I devoured the first books, hung on to every word, laughed my ass off, felt my heart break at times, got caught in the suspense of the plots, but now i am just reading the book and asking myself what happened to this series? Before the plots in the first books were believable and hilarious but still caused me to get emotionally invested. Now the problems stephanie and the gang have to go through seem so far-fetched and without the hilarity that the previous books evoked. AND Lula used to be one of my FAV characters in this book i couldn't even read her lines i was getting so annoyed.
I just wish she would change things up, the books have come so predictable.
i feel bad saying all of this because janet is seriously such a wonderful writer and i love her books usually so much, but somethings got to give. I don't think ill buy the next book, maybe wait to check it out at the library :/

Loved it! So funny and it was a good story with Stephanie getting into trouble as usual, she's a fighter. Loved Ranger as usual though I wish he was in it more and I liked Morelli a lot. . While Ranger is my favorite of the two I've always had a soft spot for Morelli.

Glad there was no choosing of men because then the series would be overupgirlcd's review against another edition

Well done Janet! All of the adventures I have been on with Stephanie & Lula & co., I laugh out loud every time. I wait for exploding cars & offices, Joyce Barnhart and her ilk. Your madcap misadventures never disappoint!

This one was a little all over for me. I do love a good Shrek reference though

I wasn't sure I was going to read the series after I read #17. I was unhappy with Stephanie's bed hopping from partner to partner. This book was better, and she developed a conscience. I also think the writing was a bit better in 18 than in 17. Jury is still out, but for now I will continue. Although I am not sure how much longer, I am ready for a conclusion.

This book was pretty good. The adventures are more or less the same, and I guess I keep reading the series hoping that Evanovich will find her groove again and go back to writing the hysterically funny plots of earlier in the series.
