I liked this. I think it's an interesting start to a hopefully interesting series. In this book, we meet all of the brothers and they're all so funny and charming. I hope I continue to love them as I get to their own book. I liked Sawyer and Honey together. I thought Honey was really sweet with Casey. I liked seeing her mother him and seeing him accept her mothering almost greedily. I think Honey was a bit too young, though. If she had been another 3-4 years older, it would have made a world of difference. Not quite a 4 star book because some of the story was a bit too corny and predictable. But a good story nonetheless. Ready for the next book now.

Actual rating 4.5 ⭐! This was heartwarming, cute, bit with a hint of action towards the end of this romantic suspense. Definitely continuing on with the series!

I love series which features alpha males. Sawyer is the first book in the series. Can't wait to read the rest.

I liked this book but there just wasn't enough to the story line it was short and I wanted more to be explained. I enjoy her newer books a lot more.

This is a quick, uncomplicated read. I really like how Lori Foster creates her male characters...protective, sexy, take charge kinda men. I'm not so crazy about her female characters. Honey Malone was way to stubborn for her own good & there were several instances I wanted to shake some sense into her. Overall I enjoyed the novel, the love scenes were steamy and the rest of the Buckhorn brothers introduced in this novel have convinced me to put their novels on my TBR pile. I'm hoping the female characters get better, too.

Sawyer by Lori Foster has been a major comfort read for me. It's certainly not a perfect novel, but I go to it time and time again.

What's the Story:

Sawyer, his three younger brothers, and his teenage son live in Buckhorn County. Sawyer is the doctor in town, and when a woman crashes her car in his pond, he immediately goes to help. The driver, Honey, is on the run, and she's also very sick. She passed out so Sawyer takes her to his house to help heal her. After a bit, Honey confides in Sawyer and his family about her troubles, and they try to figure out why someone is after her.

What I Liked:

  • Sawyer, his three brothers, and his son were just so awesome. They are all very typical Foster heroes, and that is always a plus. Foster did such a wonderful job portraying these five guys! They are all a little different, but they all have very similar values, as well. Plus, they're all gorgeous, which is never a bad thing!

  • I love how Sawyer immediately went in to help Honey when she crashed her car in his pond. He was so competent, and patient with her.

  • Honey was pretty adorable. A little stubborn, and sort-of typical-romance-heroine-like, but I loved her all the same. She's on the run, and just trying to stay safe, keep her sister safe, and to not let anything happen to Sawyer and his family.

  • Honey and Sawyer have a ton of chemistry, which does lead to them getting together pretty quickly. I was willingly to go along with it though. They really made a fantastic couple.

What I Struggled With:

  • As is often the case with romances, the suspense aspect was a bit silly. Luckily that isn't really why I read these books.

  • Some typical romance-novel things happened that made me a little eye-rolly. For example, when Sawyer first meets Honey, of course she isn't wearing a bra. Also, at the conflict at the end, Honey runs out making a lot of noise, which ultimately distracts Sawyer from the big-bad. I mean, come on!

Final Thoughts:

Sawyer by Lori Foster will always be a major comfort read. It has great characters, it's fast-paced, but it never gets stressful. This review was originally posted on Quinn's Book Nook

2.5 stars.

This was better than the last book I read but that’s not saying much.
I found myself extremely confused while reading this. It gave me whiplash. The characters swinging emotions just didn’t make sense to me and I can only put that down to bad writing. The characters, their motivations and the story were all extremely unrealistic. Lori Foster is just definitely is not for me.

The overbearing brother thing doesn’t work for me and I didn’t love the mystery. Fell flat. Overall this isn’t my type of romance so I will not be continuing
